Minecraft Desert Island

Last week we got to do a Minecraft education task. I did it with Liam and we had to fill in the desert with what we would want if we were stranded on a desert island, then we had to write about it. We did a really good job and made lots of stuff to keep ourselves occupied and entertained. First, we made a house out of watermelons with a little couch bunk beds and a cosy fire. Then we made a wishing well where you could throw in a diamond and wish for anything you wanted. Next, we made a massive swimming pool out on the side of the island with a big water slide going into it. After that, we made a title and pig pen so we could make the turtles lay eggs then we could kill a pig and have scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. Then we made a big dock with two small boats then one big sailboat. Finally, last but not least, we made a spa pool so when it was cold we could have a dip in it. Have you ever played Minecraft education?

Life Turn Around

Last week we did our test narrative writing. We had to write a story at the start of the year and then write one at the end of the year to see how much we have improved. It is important for the teachers to know how good we are at different subjects so when we go to high school the teachers know what to make us Last week we did our test narrative writing. We had to write a story at the start of the year and then write one at the end of the year to see how much we have improved. I enjoy writing when I get to write recounts about whatever I want. my favourite thing to write is hunting, fishing, rugby and anything I enjoy doing In real life. What's your favourite thing to write about?

Lock-down Birthday

On the 21st of August, I had my lock-down birthday, I turned 11 years old. If we weren't in lock-down we probably would have gone to the Woodstock pub for tea. I woke up at 6:30 and ran into my Mum and Dad's bedroom I woke them up, then I went and woke Luke up. Then it was time to start opening my presents. The first present I opened had a whole heap of lollies and chocolate in it. It had Fruit burst, Fantales, Sour Patch Kids, Hundreds and Thousands chocolate, Caramilk chocolate, Oreos, and Peanut butter cups. Then inside of that box was another box which had a brand new phone inside of it. It was a Samsung A12 and I was stoked. When we got up Dad made pancakes, we had them with banana, strawberries, chocolate mousse, whipped cream, and maple syrup. Once we were done breakfast since it was a bad day I had some games of Fortnite and then had a play on my phone. We had an amazing lunch for lunch we had Nutella sandwiches, marshmallows, licorice, strawberries, grapes, bacon lettuce, and tomato sandwiches, blueberry muffins, and coke and raspberry. After a bit more gaming and playing on my phone it was time for tea. For tea, we had loaded wedges, then we watched a movie called The Expendables 3. When we get out of lock-down I am planning on going on a birthday party hunt with a few of my friends and having a cake.

Morning hunt

Since the South Island has gone down to level 3 lockdown you are allowed to go hunting around your home area. On Wednesday morning my Dad and I got up at 4:30am to go out for a hunt in our local area. Since it was the first day of whitebaiting season we were hoping there would be no one in there. When we got up my Dad and I had toast for breaky and made milo and coffee for the drive-in. When we got there it was a bit foggy but still a nice morning, we got out of the truck put our jackets on, and started walking. We were hunting for deer and there was a lot of sign around (footprints and droppings). We snuck our way up all the way to the top end of the valley it was a 5 km walk up so we stopped there for a bit. When we were heading back Dad said if we see a goose I could shoot it because it was getting too light for deer. I had never shot a goose and I really hoped we would see some. We were walking along the river and we saw about five geese floating down. Dad got me set up and I shot one just as they floated past. Dad ran out into the river and grabbed it, the water was up to his waist and when he got out he was soaked. Dad quickly shot another one, he got that then we went back to the truck. Once we got home we hung them in the shed for a bit then we plucked them and cut them up so we could cook them up for tea sometime soon. Have you ever shot a gun or a bow?

Pizza

A couple of days ago my family made Pizza. First, we got the dough and cut it into 4 pieces because we needed 4 pizzas, one for each of us. After that, we rolled my piece of dough out on a tray. Then we put tomato paste on it and I got to decorating. At the end of it, my pizza had all sorts of meat on it. It had chicken, venison, salami, ham, and bacon. Once I had done all the meat I put on some cheese and then put on barbecue sauce. Once the pizza was done we put it in the oven for a while, then once all the pizzas were done we ate them together.

Donuts

Right now we are in the middle of Covid 19 and are in level 4 lockdown, there's not much to do so in the Tozer family we occupy ourselves by making and eating delicious foods. A couple of days ago my brother my Mum and I made donuts. First, we rolled out the dough with a rolling pin until it was in a nice big round circle. Then we used circle cutters to cut decent-sized circles out of the dough, then we used mini cutters to cut circles inside of them. After we had done that we put oil in a pot and heated it up, then put all the small bits from inside the donuts in the pot to cook for a bit. Once they were cooked we put three of the big donuts in, then rolled the small ones in cinnamon sugar and ate them. Once we had cooked the three donuts we put three more in then repeated that process. Once all the donuts were done we rolled some in cinnamon sugar, dipped some in chocolate, and put sprinkles on them and the rest we dipped in chocolate and sprinkled dry raspberries on. My favourite one was the cinnamon sugar. Have you ever made donuts before?

West Coast Rugby

Last weekend I played in the under 11 West Coast rugby. West Coast rugby is when some players from each West Coast team come together and play teams from Buller. We had two West Coast teams and the one I was in was the team that played in Blaketown tops. I was in the same team as Jack, Ali, Ben, and John who were all from Wests which is my team. For the start of the game, I played halfback then I came off for a bit and then went on as a wing. After halftime, I played a little bit more as wing and then had the rest of the game as a lock. At the end of the game, The score ended 54-12 to us. Have you ever played rugby?
