We've been learning all about angles, estimating them, and protractors in my class. We've been playing lots of different games all about angles. here are some of the games we've been playing. I think it was lots of fun knowing I am learning but having lots of fun here's my favorite game. Where would you use angles in real life?
On Monday Tuesday and Wednesday Mr. Kinane, (a computational Thinking expert), came over to teach us about micro bits. A Microbit is a small programable circuit board that can be programmed to do different things.
Day 1. We did a bit of coding and downloading on a site a bit like scratch called makecode.microbit.org. We worked for a bit on getting all the codes and everything right Then we downloaded it onto a micro bit plugged a battery pack into the micro bit and everybody played paper scissors rock.
Day. 2 today we took it a step up and Mr. Kinane made us do some coding so we could talk to other micro bits. We chose 3 sentences to be able to send to another micro bit wirelessly. Jack and I sent messages to Liam and Aj and we found out the range of our micro bits was 243 paces.
Day. 3 today we had to make an automatic opening gate this was the hardest of all. We had to get a plastic cup and a straw stick the straw to the cup do some coding and you can make an automatic opening gate sadly we did not have enough time to debug it so ours did,nt work. have you ever coded?
On Friday we made calendar art and we got to do anything we wanted. I just let my mind go wild and sketched random stuff then colored it in and this is what it turned out to look like. I had heaps of fun thinking up whacky ideas for my art and after all of the coloring, my hands ached. Have you ever sketched?
