Terminology of Turbulence

 

This week we have been learning all about flight. We had to read an article and pick out some of the harder to understand words and search them up in an online dictionary. Once we were done that we had to put the words and their meaning onto a poster. I really enjoyed doing the poster on flight and I think we should do more like it in the future. Have you ever been on a plane?  

Time Capsule Letter

This week we have been learning all about time capsules. Time capsules are usually small capsules full of objects from decades or even centuries ago. Sometimes when people are knocking down a building or doing something like that. We are making letters to put in our time capsules and I am really enjoying it. The reason I like writing the letter is that we are actually going to see it when we are like 60 years old. This is my letter so far. Have you ever made a time capsule or seen one.  

Fake animals

In my class, we have been learning all about the pacific northwest tree octopus which is a fake animal we have had to research all about. We had to make lots of different things but my favorite thing we had to make was a fake animal. I made lots of animals because I really enjoyed it. the reason I really enjoyed it was because we got to use lots of different sites like remove.bg. have you ever used remove.bg.

Bottle Rockets

We have been learning all about bottle rockets at school and now we have started making them. We were allowed to be in groups of two and I was in a group with my friend Jack Smith. We're not done with our rocket yet but we will be soon. Linken made a really good rocket and when we let it go it went way higher than any of our previous rockets had gone. But when we let it go for a second the top of it exploded because of all the pressure in it. Now we know we can't just use any bottle, we need a good bottle that can hold lots of pressure. What do you think we should do to improve our rockets? 

  

Anzac letter

Today we had to write a letter about what it was like at Gallipoli during World War 1 back to our family acting like we were there. We had to talk all about when the Anzacs were training in Egypt all the way to when they escaped. I really enjoyed doing this writing. It was fun and I learned lots about Gallipoli and World War 1. What do you know about Anzac day?

Sticking With Pigs

 

I really love reading and I started reading Sticking with Pigs and I couldn't put it down. I really enjoy hunting and this is a perfect book for me. I really love all the action Mary-anne Scott puts in her books. A couple of days ago my school was lucky enough to meet Mary-anne Scott. She came to our school a couple of days ago and told us all about writing and how to be good at it if you wanted to do it for a job. She also told us that she gets only $1.80 per book that is sold, which is not a great deal for the amount of time it takes. I enjoy writing stories about my hunting trips have you ever been hunting and if you have did you write about it?

Report on Mary-Anne Scott's visit

A couple of days ago Mary-Anne Scott came to our school to tell us all about writing. She writes lots of books and one of them called 'Sticking with Pigs' is one of my favorite books. I really like all the action she puts in her books. We have some of her books in our school library.
